Spider Veins are tiny reddish to bluish veins that are seen in the skin, usually on the legs and sometimes on the face.

The best treatment for spider veins on the legs is Sclerotherapy. With this procedure, a tiny needle is inserted into the vein and medicine is injected that causes the vein to close down and go away. Usually, it takes several treatments. Sometimes there are a few brown spots that remain afterwards. This is called pigmentation and will usually clear with time.

Spider veins are considered a cosmetic issue and their treament is typically not covered by insurance.
